Tax Advisory Services
A proactive, strategic approach to taxes for business owners and high-income households who want to reduce unnecessary tax and plan ahead
Most of the clients I work with have already done the “right” and conventional things to improve their tax results. But despite those efforts, their tax outcomes have not meaningfully improved. Usually, this is because true tax strategy was never part of the equation.
For established business owners and high-income professionals, proactive advisory often leads to meaningful tax savings, fewer costly mistakes, and better decision-making.
That’s why tax strategy sits at the center of every tax-related service we provide. Our advisory engagements help you understand the tax implications of key decisions before they are made. We identify opportunities to reduce tax liability, access tax-advantaged benefits, and develop a proactive tax plan aligned with your goals and priorities.
And because business, personal, and investment decisions are deeply connected, tax strategy considers your whole picture. Changes in your personal life, investments, or household income can directly affect your tax planning, and that broader context is incorporated into our advisory work.
We’re currently scheduling new Tax Advisory engagements for late fall and early 2027. Planning ahead for year-end or the new year? Start the conversation now.
How Tax Advisory Works
Tax Advisory is tailored so the strategy and level of involvement align with your financial picture, goals, and the decisions in front of you. Most ongoing Tax Advisory engagements begin around $20,000 annually, with engagements involving greater complexity, multiple entities, or significant transitions typically ranging from $30,000–$55,000+ annually.
Ongoing Tax Advisory
For business owners and high-income professionals who want tax strategy aligned with the decisions ahead.
Tax Advisory provides ongoing strategic support throughout the year as your business, investments, and financial picture evolve. We evaluate opportunities, model the tax impact of significant decisions, adjust strategy as circumstances change, and coordinate implementation so planning does not stop at recommendations. The scope and level of involvement are tailored to the complexity of your situation—whether that includes multiple entities, real estate and investment activity, major purchases, ownership changes, or an upcoming business transition.
Best for: established business owners and high-income professionals where timing, structure, investments, and significant decisions can materially affect tax outcomes.
How to Get Started
Every advisory relationship begins with a Complimentary Tax Advisory Conversation.
We’ll ask a few thoughtful questions in advance to understand your business or income structure, broader financial situation, and goals in preparation for a focused, strategic conversation.
This conversation is an opportunity to:
Talk through your situation, goals, and any significant decisions or transitions ahead.
Discuss where tax advisory may help reduce taxes and support better decision-making.
Determine whether advisory makes sense for your situation. We work intentionally with a defined number of Tax Advisory clients so each client receives thoughtful, proactive attention. The consultation is exploratory in nature and does not include individualized tax advice.
If there’s alignment, the consultation is where we’ll talk through potential next steps.

What is a Tax Strategist?
A Tax Strategist is a tax professional who focuses on proactive planning—evaluating how business structure, income, investments, and significant financial decisions can affect tax outcomes before those decisions are finalized.
Unlike tax return preparation, which primarily reports what has already occurred, tax strategy looks forward. The goal is to identify opportunities, evaluate alternatives, and develop a coordinated plan that evolves as your financial picture changes.
A key difference between a Tax Strategist and a traditional accounting firm is strategic involvement. Tax Strategists take time to understand the client’s broader situation and future plans, then design coordinated strategies to support those decisions. Many accounting firms, by contrast, are primarily structured around compliance-based work.
Tax strategy is often provided by Enrolled Agents or CPAs who have intentionally specialized in proactive tax planning. The credential itself does not necessarily indicate a focus on tax strategy, so the professional’s experience and area of practice matter.
As an Enrolled Agent, I’ve spent nearly 15 years working directly with established business owners and high-income professionals to design, implement, and revisit tax strategies throughout the year. I am federally licensed by the IRS and stay current on tax law changes that affect the clients I advise.
Most of my work is conducted remotely, with select in-person meetings in Dallas, Rockwall, or Austin, Texas, when appropriate. My work is strategy-first, meaning tax planning leads the process and filing supports the strategy that has been developed throughout the year.

Who will I be working with?
If we decide to work together, you will work directly with me. I personally lead all tax strategy and advisory work and remain actively involved throughout the engagement.
I’m supported by a small, highly capable team who assist with administrative coordination, select bookkeeping cleanup, and filing overflow when appropriate. I personally lead the strategic analysis, planning, and advisory guidance for each engagement.
This structure allows for a high level of continuity, attention, and thoughtful execution—while ensuring the work remains efficient and well-supported.
How much do Tax Advisory services cost?
I work with clients through ongoing annual Tax Advisory engagements. Most engagements begin around $20,000 annually, with situations involving greater complexity, multiple entities, or significant transitions typically ranging from $30,000–$55,000+ annually.
Scope and pricing are tailored to your business, income, investments, and planning needs. While engagements are annual, fees can generally be spread across monthly payments.
We’ll discuss the appropriate scope and fee during the consultation.
Is Tax Advisory a one-time engagement or ongoing support?
Tax Advisory is not a one-time plan or standalone recommendation. It’s an ongoing advisory engagement designed to support better decisions over time.
Tax strategy works best when it evolves alongside your business, income, investments, and life. As income changes, new opportunities arise, entities are added, or personal circumstances shift, the strategy needs to be revisited and refined. Ongoing support allows tax planning to remain aligned with real-world decisions—rather than becoming outdated or disconnected from how the business actually operates.
Regular engagements are structured to provide continuity, context, and proactive guidance throughout the year, so tax considerations are addressed before decisions are made—not after.
What kinds of results can Tax Advisory create?
Tax Advisory is designed to create meaningful financial impact—not only through tax savings, but through better structure, better timing, and better decision-making.
In most engagements, that has translated into substantial first-year tax savings, with additional opportunities emerging as the business or financial picture evolves. Depending on the client, planning may involve entity and ownership structure, compensation and reasonable-compensation benchmarking, R&D credit studies and related planning, real estate investments and cost-segregation studies, major asset purchases, business transitions, or other significant financial decisions.
The benefits often extend beyond the tax savings themselves. Clients gain greater clarity around cash flow, investments, business decisions, and the tax impact of major financial moves before those decisions are made. That can mean fewer costly mistakes, better coordination, and more confidence in the path forward.
Every client’s situation is different, but by the time we discuss an engagement, I typically have enough information to give you a meaningful sense of the opportunities I see and the potential level of impact. The objective is to create financial and strategic value well beyond the cost of the advisory relationship.

Does Tax Advisory include tax return preparation or bookkeeping?
Applicable business and individual income tax return preparation is included as part of the Tax Advisory relationship so strategy, implementation, and filing stay aligned. Individual income tax return preparation is required as part of the engagement.
Ongoing bookkeeping is a separate service. When appropriate, Tax Advisory clients may receive a separate proposal for coordinated bookkeeping support.
Can I work with you for Tax Advisory if another firm prepares my taxes?
Generally, no. Tax strategy and tax filing are closely connected. For a strategy to be implemented correctly, the preparer needs to fully understand the approach, support it, and carry it through accurately on the return.
In practice, this can create challenges when another firm is responsible for filing—especially when the strategy is more nuanced or falls outside the preparer’s usual scope.
For that reason, applicable business and individual income tax return preparation is included as part of my Tax Advisory relationship. Keeping strategy, implementation, documentation, and filing within one coordinated relationship helps ensure the plan is carried through accurately.
There may be limited transition situations where coordination with a prior preparer is appropriate, but ongoing outside tax preparation is not the standard structure of the engagement.
