What really financially empowers business owners? While everyone’s situation is different, there are a few universal things that make a big difference.
So here are my 4 tips to become a more financially empowered business owner:
1. Show Up for Yourself
Show up for yourself! If you aren’t clear about a specific financial, tax or accounting aspect of your business, or you have misgivings about financial advice, pause. Ask for clarification. Get help. Respect your intuition… Just like you would in other areas of your business and life.
Because when we ignore & push our financial issues to the back-burner, it tells our money, our business, and ourselves that we don’t value them—and we rob our future from peace of mind, financial freedom & security.
2. Merge Your Life Goals with Your Business’ Finances!
Get clear on what you actually want in your business & life, and start merging those goals with your business’ finances.
Money needs a job (without a job, even if money comes in, it’ll flow out to an elusive place). And, when you get clear enough on what it is you desire, you’re able to make financial & tax choices that actively assist you in getting there. ⠀
3. Establish a Timeline
Set yourself up for success by establishing realistic, yet uncomfortably challenging timeline, for you to get to where you want to be. Most business owners spend years procrastinating and wistfully wishing things were better or clearer on the financial side–without any action. While change doesn’t happen overnight, it doesn’t need to take anywhere near the same amount of time to get to the other side… An uncomfortable timeline breaks up your pattern. The challenging aspect motivates you forward with a glimpse at the light at the end of the tunnel.⠀
If you want to handle your business finances in an Empowered way, with clear direction, better decisions, more money pocketed, and in full alignment with your values, start by showing up for yourself.
4. Get Support
If you feel overwhelmed, don’t know where to start, or simply recognize you need a mentor leading the way, don’t go it alone. Talk to others who’ve been in your situation and have come out on the other side. Or hire a Business Coach or Fractional CFO.
There are plenty of skilled people who want to support you in living your best life!
